The Diemwerke
A success story.
When: 1949
Where: Dornbirn
Company founder: Alfred Diem
The period immediately after the Second World War was marked by an acute shortage of raw materials. A talent for improvisation and construction skills were much in demand. These valuable skills allowed company founder Alfred Diem to lay the stable foundations for a company which continues to flourish today.
This allows Diem Werke to grow into a modern manufacturing business.
Diem Werke is also optimally equipped for the future. All thanks to its cutting-edge design, drafting and manufacturing technologies, and of course also to its traditional pioneer spirit and attention to quality.
OUR QUALITY STANDARDS
WE HAVE IT IN BLACK AND WHITE.
Reliable standards for maximum precision and safety.
Our company and our employees are regularly subjected to international standards inspections. At three-year intervals, our welders are tested according to EN ISO 9606-1 in the areas of MAG, TIG, and electrode welding. Similarly, the operators of our welding equipment are assessed according to EN ISO 14732.
Our company management system incorporates the following normative requirements:
- EN ISO 9001:2015
- EN ISO 3834-3
- EN 1090-2 (EXC2): Welding certificate, conformity of the factory production control, and thermal cutting
These corresponding inspections and tests are conducted by external bodies.
Furthermore, as of last year, we have been recognized as an excellent training company!

Family business
Since 1949.
A new era begins.
In 2024, Diem-Werke GmbH proudly celebrates its 75th anniversary. The company looks back on a long tradition and continuous development, marked by innovation and quality in mechanical engineering. This special anniversary year also marks the end of an era: after many years in management, Susanne Hotz is entering a well-deserved retirement. Diem-Werke GmbH will remain a family business: Ferdinand Diem, grandson of company founder Alfred Diem and son of the late Harry Diem (†2010), is stepping into her role and taking over the management. Together with Christoph Hagspiel, he will lead Diem-Werke into the future. Their shared vision is to continue expanding the company’s strong brand, explore new markets, and focus on sustainable innovation. With this generational shift, Diem-Werke GmbH is well positioned to maintain its status as a leading company in the industry and to continue its proud family legacy for decades to come.
