The period immediately after the Second World War was marked by an acute shortage of raw materials. A talent for improvisation and construction skills were much in demand. These valuable skills allowed company founder Alfred Diem to lay the stable foundations for a company which continues to flourish today.

1949Diem opens for business in Dornbirn, as a workshop with one employee. Its first product is a mass-produced kitchen knife, manufactured from metal scraps from the armaments industry. In addition, written-off military vehicles form the basis for farming tractors and electricity generators. In this way, the company is able to supply sawmills with transport vehicles and lifting tools.
1950Alfred Diem already holds numerous international patents. Hundreds of the first mass-produced mixers are also delivered.
1955The first pressure vessel heads are produced. The customer is Hoval Werke, based in Vaduz, Liechtenstein.
1959Development of the first drive motor-operated cement mixers.
1963Space requirements require a relocation to Lochau, to the premises of the former Bayerische Leicht Metall Werk, and previously the Oberhänsli Dieselmotoren Werk. Diem Werke's subsequently further grows into a modern production business.

This allows Diem Werke to grow into a modern manufacturing business.
1987The son of the founder, Mr. Harry Diem, took over the management.
1994We take over a storage engineering business. With annual increases in sales revenue of at least. 20%, Diem Werke thus becomes one of the leading producers in this sector.
1995Premiere of a modern classic: The first high performance pan mixer from the legendary DZ 120V range is produced. Even today, synonymous with reliability and durability.
2001The Diem-Werke GmbH takes over the warehouse and office areas of the former Resch area in Lochau. The so-called "Werk II" is used as construction machinery and tank warehouse.
2004A milestone for the mixing of non-flammable masses and steel-reinforced concrete: dynamic agitators for pan mixers. Extremely low wear, even with highly abrasive materials.
2009Acquisition of Unitec Energietechnik GmbH, which are specializes in the development and distribution of tank construction.
2010Structural expansion of warehouse space in "Werk II".
2012Establishment of a 7000 m² production hall with administrative building in Hörbranz. A connection to the warehouse "Werk II" by bridge is also provided.
2013Moving into the new building in Hörbranz and certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and ISO 3834.
TodayWell-known companies such as Hilti, Alpla and many more are today Diem Werke customers. And the specialists from Lochau have also meanwhile made a name for themselves with intelligent solutions for the plastics and foodstuffs industry.
Diem Werke is also optimally equipped for the future. All thanks to its cutting-edge design, drafting and manufacturing technologies, and of course also to its traditional pioneer spirit and attention to quality.
