"The DIEM-WERKE"
When: 1949
Where: Dornbirn
Company founder: Alfred Diem
The period immediately after the Second World War was marked by an acute shortage of raw materials. A talent for improvisation and construction skills were much in demand. These valuable skills allowed company founder Alfred Diem to lay the stable foundations for a company which continues to flourish today.
1949
DIEM opens for business in Dornbirn, as a workshop with one employee. Its first product is a mass-produced kitchen knife, manufactured from metal scraps from the armaments industry. In addition, written-off military vehicles form the basis for farming tractors and electricity generators. In this way, the company is able to supply sawmills with transport vehicles and lifting tools.
1950
Alfred Diem already holds numerous international patents. Hundreds of the first mass-produced mixers are also delivered.
1955
The first pressure vessel heads are produced. The customer is Hoval Werke, based in Vaduz, Liechtenstein.
1959
Development of the first drive motor-operated cement mixers.
1963
Space requirements require a relocation to Lochau, to the premises of the former Bayerische Leicht Metall Werk, and previously the Oberhänsli Dieselmotoren Werk. DIEM Werke's subsequently further grows into a modern production business.
This allows DIEM WERKE to grow into a modern manufacturing business.
1994
We take over a storage engineering business. With annual increases in sales revenue of at least. 20%, DIEM Werke thus becomes one of the leading producers in this sector.
1995
Premiere of a modern classic: The first high performance pan mixer from the legendary DZ 120V range is produced. Even today, synonymous with reliability and durability.
2004
A milestone for the mixing of non-flammable masses and steel-reinforced concrete: dynamic agitators for pan mixers. Extremely low wear, even with highly abrasive materials.
Today
Well-known companies such as Hilti, Viessmann, Alpla, Schücko and many more are today DIEM Werke customers. And the specialists from Lochau have also meanwhile made a name for themselves with intelligent solutions for the plastics and foodstuffs industry.
DIEM Werke is also optimally equipped for the future. All thanks to its cutting-edge design, drafting and manufacturing technologies, and of course also to its traditional pioneer spirit and attention to quality.
